Avast ye swabs, it be pirates in downtown Fort Walton Beach come to take control of the city, but it’s all good fun in one of the country’s longest running pirate festivals. It all starts Thursday with a block party and ends Monday evening with a torchlight parade (pirates sleep on Sunday). In between there’s a Pirate Pet Parade, a two-day festival with live music, a skirmish with city officials and a Pirate Trial.
